The Marais needs no introduction these days! Much of the area dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, featuring narrow streets, fine architecture, boutiques, antique shops, restaurants, cafes. Strict building codes protect its authenticity. This is where Parisiens choose to wander on weekends. The centrepiece is of the course the Place des Vosges, the purest example of 17th c. architecture, it's arcaded façade set around a central park with trees and benches. Easy walking distance to the Picasso and Carnavelet museums, Bastille Opera, Ile Ste. Louis, Notre Dame, Ile de la Cite, and much more! Nearby on the Rue St. Antoine is a wonderful selection of specialist food shops (baker, deli, cheese, fish, wine..) in the very best French tradition! Narrow stairs lead to this 2nd floor apartment in a typical old Marais building overlooking a narrow cobbled courtyard with loads of character, and protected from street noises. This apartment has been recently entirely renovated and furnished to a good standard while retaining character and charm.
