Maison Ruelle de la Ceze is a beautiful stone built house that dates back to the XV11th century. It is situated in the medieval village of Montcluse, on a quiet (pedestrian only) path with the southern side overlooking the Ceze River. The owners have restored the house to incorporate it's ancient elements. As such they have retained the exposed brick walls, and wooden beamed ceilings. The house has been comfortably furnished with taste and style. Famillies with children will appreciate the path that runs down to the river where there is a sandy beach 200 meters away! All in all, the house is a unique and restful haven to return to after days spent exploring the many attractions both of historical and cultural interest the region has to offer. Goudargue is only 4kms, Uzes, which is 15 minutes by car, is a delightful little market town with all commerce, cafes, restaurants, and markets on Saturdays, and Wednesdays. Also within easy reach is Avignon at 40 kms. The Mediterranean coast is just over 70 kms away.
DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMODATION:
Living/Dining Room: Nicely renovated with exposed stonewalls, wooden beamed ceiling, and tiled floors. Windows overlook the river. Antiques, two sofas, large dining table, comfortable sitting chairs. Monumental Fireplace, Stereo/CD player, TV, piano. Living room opens to inner courtyard with table in chairs for outdoor dining. Shaded with grape vines and oleanders.
Kitchen Newly renovated in 2004, and fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher, washing machine.
4 Bedrooms: All bedrooms open to courtyard or terrace.
  • "Chambre Jaune" -very charming with two single beds on the main floor off the courtyard.
  • "Chambre Maitre" - Large airy bedroom with double bed, and ensuite showeroom.
  • "Grande Chambre" - pretty bedroom with private bathroom and double bed.
  • "Petite Chambre" - with single bed
2 Bathrooms: One with bath, basin & separate WC.
Pricing: Starts at 1000 EURO wk
Security deposit: 400 Euro payable on arrival (this can be a personal cheque) against any accidental damage or other charges. Refunded upon departure.
Extras: Linen /towels are 25 EURO per person, Heating if used is 50 EURO per week. Final cleaning 70 EURO. Central Heating. Sunny Upper terrace with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Great views over River! Extra cot possible for a child. Telephone for incoming calls, Maid service during stay.
