Many of the properties are old farm buildings that have been converted into rental units that share a pool. Others are spacious, detached homes, offering maximum privacy. Umbria

The region of Umbria, located to the south-east of Tuscany, is an ' up and coming' tourist area in Italy, and quickly gaining popularity as a favoured destination. Umbria is just a beautiful and green as Tuscany, but because of its relative newness as a tourist center, prices can often be slightly lower. Umbria was named by the Romans for the Iron Age tribe that once occupied this area, the Umbrii. Like Tuscany, Umbria boasts several perfectly preserved medieval villages and towns, of which Perugia is a prime example. Tuscany

Tuscany is the most popular tourist region in Italy. As the birthplace of the Renaissance movement, it is rich in history and traditions. Tuscany roughly encompasses the areas between Florence and Siena, extending all the way to the coast. To some it is considered the "heart" of the country. Within its boundaries are found the most famous wine region of Italy - Chianti, as well as some of Italy's most famous hill towns, including San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, and Monteplulciano.
